Internet Culinary CyberCity https://www.culinary.net/ Review by Debbie Mazo
This extensive site is organized into three areas: the Food Professionals and Culinary Students Private Club and Media Newsroom, and the Public Neighborhood. Media and food professionals can register to get free access to the private club and media newsroom, while the Public Neighborhood is open to all who want to explore its rich collection of food and recipe resources. The CyberCity's meeting place is the Public Neighborhood, neatly organized into several sections. In the Kitchen, you can browse through an extensive recipe file with everything from kids' favorites to timely tips that will make you a five star chef in your own kitchen. You can also read up on safety tips to protect your family while preparing food in the kitchen. A La Carte includes a sumptuous photo gallery, nutrition and health information, and a sidewalk café where you can take your time discovering a full course menu of delicious coffees, teas, and accoutrements. The Resources section includes lists of commodity boards, food associations, and hot hyperlinks. If you're an aspiring chef, you can also check out the professional positions available in the Classifieds or post an ad to get rid of that old steam cooker. There are no charges for these postings. A recipe swap in the Your Community section lets you share your secret ingredients on a global bulletin board, or join in a wide variety of culinary conversations in the Live Chat and Forums. The highlight of this community, however, is the Culinary Village which offers a free service where food entrepreneurs can design and store their own food-related web page, up to 200 kilobytes in size. To create your own food page, just click on the Culinary Village link and follow the simple instructions for designing your web masterpiece. Once you finish designing your page, you'll automatically be given the Web address for your page, so get ready to invite all of your friends to visit you at the Internet Culinary CyberCity.
