Keep up with food trends from the food professional's point of view, explore some hot new recipes and get up-to-date information on latest cooking equipment, cookbooks, cooking schools, restaurants and nutritional information.

Marianne's Picks is a wonderfully rich resource providing information about culinary events around the country organized by both state and region. This feature has great potential would others contribute. Simply email Marianne with information about food-related events in your hometown and have her include them in her listing. Also provided here is the Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation 1997 calendar. This event serves as a benefit for hunger offering wine and food tastings at fabulous venues in cities nationwide. Ticket prices range from $25-$150 depending on locale.

The FoodWorks Market has a limited inventory at this writing (buffalo meat or cookies), but it aspires to serve as a listing of specialty food purveyors around the world. After perusing electronic marketplace you can then place an order on-line or take down the information and contact the company directly. A great feature should it grow.

The recipe database is limited, but what's there is worth a gander. Most are creations from the Halcyon workshop. This weekend cooking class is provided monthly at the Halcyon restaurant and is sponsored by Gourmet magazine. You can read more about in Events. Recipes are organized by Family Fare, Basics, Entertaining and Vegetarian Specialties with various sub-categories within each. Don't forget to take a peak at the cookbook reviews to find out what's new on the shelf at your local bookstore. NutritionWorks offers a matter of fact approach to nutrition and how to get it properly from the food you eat.

FoodWorks is a wonderful resource with great possibilities-definitely worth coming back to!
