January 2004 Gourmet Guess Contest Prize

Immersion Blender

KitchenAid Adds Immersion Blender
to Line of Culinary Equipment

This month Gourmet Guess winners will receive KitchenAid's new immersion blender.

Adding to an already extensive lineup of products that serious cooks rely on for mixing, chopping, puréeing and other culinary tasks, KitchenAid has introduced a premium immersion blender to its collection of essential kitchen equipment.

The new KitchenAid portable appliance features the most powerful motor available in a home immersion blender, also known as a hand or stick blender. Its sharp, stainless steel blade—capable of blending everything from drinks to soups with professional quality results—is protected by a splashguard to help prevent splattering of ingredients. The blender is available in three models: Model 100 is the traditional immersion blender; Model 200 comes with an additional whisk and Model 300 comes with a whisk and a drawstring accessory bag with three separate pockets that allows for convenient storage. All the models will be offered in White, Onyx Black, Cobalt Blue and Empire Red.

With its 8-inch immersion depth, the immersion blender can easily reach and mix ingredients in deep pots or pitchers all the way to the bottom. The included 3-cup beaker and lid may be used for both blending and storage.

"Even the most accomplished home cook is looking for ways to bring convenience into the kitchen without compromising the result," notes Brian Maynard, Brand Director, Integrated Marketing for KitchenAid. "Our new immersion blender offers not only a shortcut, but results worthy of a professional chef."

The immersion blender's one-touch power button and variable speed control allow for simple, consistent operation, while its easy to grip body ensures optimal comfort and control. A 5-foot rounded power cord provides flexibility in multiple work areas and the smooth surface of the blender body is easily wiped clean. The blending attachment, beaker and lid are dishwasher safe.

The immersion blender carries a suggested retail price range of $69.99 to $119.99.

Since the introduction of its classic stand mixer in 1919 and first dishwasher in 1949, KitchenAid has built on the legendary performance of these icons to create a complete line of beautifully designed products for the kitchen and home. From countertop appliances to cookware and cutlery, ranges to refrigerators, and washing machines to wine cellars, KitchenAid is committed to enabling professional quality results, in and out of the kitchen.

For more information, visit www.kitchenaid.com.

The total suggested retail value of this prize package is $119.
