Sean's Cream Substitute

Serves 5

  • 1 10-1/2-ounce package low-fat silken tofu
  • 1 cup plain rice dream
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 pinches salt

Place everything in a blender and process until smooth. Can be refrigerated. Adjust seasonings for other dishes. Makes 2-1/2 cups for 1/2-cup servings.

Tip: Add this "cream" to tomato sauce for a great pink sauce. Note: Sean came up with this great recipe as a healthy substitute for the cream in most soups and pasta sauces.
