Camper's Corner

http://www.fabulousfoods.com/campers/campers.html

Review by Debbie Mazo

With over 8,000 campgrounds in the U.S. for outdoor adventurers to enjoy, camping has become a popular way for family and friends to explore the country and all its natural terrain. Preparing meals over a campfire, however, can be a daunting experience with limited resources and ingredients at hand. With imagination and preparation, however, camping meals no longer have to be about overcooked hot dogs and charred marshmallows. Before you pack your tent, explore Camper's Corner for helpful tips and easy recipes guaranteed to make your camping meals the talk of the campgrounds.

Camper's Corner Part of the Fabulous Foods web page, Camper's Corner will change your mind when it comes to cooking on your next camping excursion. Learn how you can make your camping meals a breeze by clicking on Camping and Cooking Tips. If you forgot your roasting pan, don't despair. You can always make a rack out of vegetables like celery, carrots, and onion and place your chicken, turkey, or roast on top. Want to preserve your food rations on the road? Then, check out Food Storage Tips. For fresher cheese, place sugar cubes in cheese containers to keep the cheese free from mold. To make your apples ripen faster, store them in a paper bag with either an avocado or a banana.

If the idea of a hot meal by the campfire intimidates you, there's plenty of helpful ideas to pave the way. Chicken lovers can marinate fresh chicken, place it in freezer bag, and freeze it before leaving on their camping trip. Ready to eat? Thaw your chicken and try some of the Camper's Corner recipes submitted by tried and true campers. For an exotic favorite, whip up the Grilled Asian Style Chicken Wings seasoned with garlic, ginger, and pepper and cooked over a medium-hot grill for about 8-10 minutes per side. Serve with a Grilled Vegetable Ratatouille Salad for a colorful presentation of cooked eggplant, squash, mushroom, potatoes, and tomatoes.

If you haven't booked your campsite, check out the reviewed sites with descriptions of the campgrounds as well as the facilities available. There's also a list of special events you can enjoy when you hit the road. Wherever you roam, Camper's Corner can lend a hand with its enthusiastic presentation of camping and outdoor cooking resources.
